First cover design of A Quid Pro Quo in Paris.

I later felt this attempt didn't communicate a clear genre, which I would define as NOIR PLUS. As in Noir + family drama, Noir + historical, or Noir + psychological fiction.

I'm happy with my final book cover, with a black background at the top and serif font which communicates, I think, Noir. The woman peeking in from the left side represents Colette, the protagonist's lover and a key figure in the novel. Her presence adds a soft touch to the ensemble.

My early cover design for A quid pro quo in Paris, showing a period picture of the US embassy in Paris and, at the bottom, a picture of a Paris bench
